The park's landscape was formed by volcanoes and earthquakes, which makes it very unique. The summer time highs are 21-27 degrees C (70-80 degrees F), spring and fall -1-16 degrees C (30-60 degrees F), and in the winter -20 to -25 degrees C (0-20 degrees F). Some cool geological features that are in the park are geysers, volcanoes, and glaciers. Yellow Stone has 300 species of birds, 6 species of reptiles, 16 species of fish, 5 species of amphibians, and 67 species of mammals. some common animals are bison, wolves, black bears, elk, moose, grizzly bears, big horned sheep, and coyotes. All of these mammals have adapted to their habitat by having thick fur coats. Over 80% of the park consists of Lodge-pole pine forests, while the rest of the park is either spruce-fir forests, White-bark pine, or Douglas-fir forests. Then there are small spots of non-forest.
